I participated in multiple varsity sports during my youth, but volleyball was my passion. As a setter and right-side hitter, I captained the Scarborough Titans throughout my career in the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA). When my daughter took an interest in volleyball, I returned to the sport as a parent, eager to share my knowledge and experience.

As a coach, I am committed to continuous personal development, working with mentors and participating in the Coach Development program. My coaching philosophy emphasizes creating a supportive environment that encourages growth, learning, and excellence. I aim to equip players with the tools they need to succeed and challenge them to reach their full potential. While winning is not the sole focus, success often follows hard work—and that process is always rewarding.

Sudheer’s coached a variety of sports. His goal is to ensure kids grow their love for sport while helping them reach their highest potential, “if they’re not having fun, they’ll never become their best”. Sudheer’s philosophy is to motivate athletes through pride, not fear. “Old school coaching doesn’t work with today’s athletes, that’s why it’s called old school”. He focuses on hyper development using the CLA approach, sprinkled with fundamental skills, all built on a strong culture. Sudheer’s an avid learner and looks for better ways to teach and motivate kids; He attended the Way Of Champions Conference, hosted by Jerry Lynch (mentor for S. Kerr, coach of the Golden State Warriors).  He’s a member of Rob Gray’s (Trainer for the Boston Red Sox) mastermind, who discuss the CLA teaching approach. He also attended Munciana’s camps in Indiana, “there’s a reason why they’re a top U.S. club; I love how they do things, so you can expect to see pieces of Munciana training in our practices”. In June he’ll be attending the VNL International Coaching symposium in Ottawa learning from National Level coaches. “the game, and teaching it, has changed so much, if you’re not learning you’re falling behind”.

This is my second year coaching at the club level, with a total of three years of experience. I am still amidst my career as a player, having played 5 years total through the OVA and a year in the OCAA playing for Sheridan College. I have further goals to continue my love and passion for the game, with plans to continue my playing career at the collegiate level.

My approach to coaching has been based on my experience and understanding of high-level competition with an emphasis on mental toughness and strength. My goal as a coach is to develop and inspire high-level, competitive athletes who have a desire to work hard, compete, and have a strong understanding of all aspects of the game of volleyball.

Having come from Hummingbird Volleyball Club as a player, I have a strong understanding of the club’s standards and strive to push my team to succeed with every opportunity. I am extremely excited and proud to be able to have the opportunity to coach for such an amazing organization, and I cannot wait to see where the year takes my team.
