COMPETITIVE TEAMS
The Hummingbird Volleyball Club Indoor Competitive Program is designed for aspiring athletes aged 11u to 18u, offering a rigorous training environment for both girls and boys committed to high-level competitive play. Each team practices twice a week, supplemented by an additional session focused on strength and conditioning to build the physical resilience necessary for peak performance. Competing in 6 to 10 tournaments from September to May, players will engage in intense competition that challenges their skills and strategies against other top teams. Practices take place in facilities across Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, and Pickering, ensuring athletes have access to the best resources for development. Our dedicated coaching staff emphasizes advanced techniques, tactical awareness, and mental fortitude, preparing players not only to compete but to thrive in high-stakes environments. What are the costs involved in joining the team?
The fee for joining a team could vary from season to season and will be provided before signing. This includes coaching, practice facilities, and OVA tournament entry fees for the age group you are in.
When are tryouts held?
Tryouts are typically held in early September. Exact dates will be posted on our website and social media channels.
Are there any age or skill level requirements?
Teams are available for players aged 12U-18U. We welcome all skill levels, but we recommend understanding the fundamentals of volleyball is recommended. Check our programs for our Nest, Camps and Prep for Rep programs.
What equipment do I need to bring?
You’ll need proper volleyball attire, knee pads, and a water bottle. We provide the volleyballs and other training equipment.
What is the policy for missed practices or games?
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way. If you need to miss a practice or game, please inform the coach as soon as possible. Frequent absences might impact your playtime during tournaments.
WILL THERE BE ADDITIONAL COST FOR THE SEASON?
Yes, Any additional tournaments added post-signing, including associated travel and entry fees, are the player’s responsibility. Teams may choose to fundraise to help offset these costs.
